I was thrilled and delighted to hear that there was going to be a spinoff to one of my all time favorite TV shows. Rob Thomas, the creator of Veronica Mars, is writing the pilot for CW11’s spinoff of Beverly Hills 90210. It was a Fox classic. Although the original Walsh Family wasn’t mentioned, there will be a new family moving into the exclusive 90210 zip code.
A man from Kansas is reluctantly moving back to his old home town, The Beverly Hills. The reason for this move is because of his new position as a principle. He is bringing his wife, son and daughter with him. His children will be attending the high school in which he graduated from - West Beverly High School. They will both have jobs at a movie theater, which means they won’t be living off their parents credit cards. Rob Thomas refers to the grandmother as a Julie Christie like actress – who will be attending rehab.
Since it is a spinoff, there is a chance/plan for bringing back old cast members from Beverly Hills 90210. However, it is unknown which cast member it will be. Thomas also hopes to bring back the ‘50s style diner also known as The Peach Pit. This won’t be seen in the pilot, but hopefully into the future episodes.
