In Denial

After hearing that her distraught daughter has been going out of her way to deny her pregnancy, Lynne Spears jetted home to be by her side. Lynne has been staying in Los Angeles to cope with her elder daughter’s mental crisis, when she realized she had to get back home and fast because of Jamie Lynn’s irrational exclamations. Lynne was spotted reading a book about a mother of two whose life falls apart.

Jamie Lynn (mom-to-be) is in such denial about her condition. She isn’t used to her new shape and feels enormous, even though her bump is barely showing. She has been wrapping two-inch-wide Ace bandages tightly around her stomach to hide her bump. Also despite the 70o temperature, she has been wearing heavy sweatshirts. Jamie Lynn’s attempts to hide the body can cause problems. According to Randy Fink, M.D., a Miami – based ob-gyn, “Heat has been shown to be associated with damage to the baby. The risks of exposure to excessive heat are brain and nerve problems as well as certain types of blood vessel problems.”
Jamie Lynn has been trying to go about her life as she normally would. She still hangs out until late at night and eats junk food. An unknown source stated, “A male friend joked at a party that she looked sexier with her new curves, and Jamie Lynn snapped back, ‘Shut up!’ She then turned to another friend and said, ‘I hate my body!’” Jamie Lynn is having severe body-image issues.

Friends and family are really concerned over Jamie Lynn’s emotional state, but they are relieved knowing her mother is right by her side. Within a day of Lynne’s return, Jamie Lynn abandoned both the bandages and the bulky sweats and was seen walking about wearing a white shirt, with her tummy on display. However, Jamie Lynn is still lying low, wearing glasses and her hair up, like she doesn’t want to make a scene.

Despite the shock and disappointment, fans still love Zoey. In fact, Zoey 101, is doing better than ever. When the third season finale aired just weeks after Jamie Lynn admitted her pregnancy, ratings more than doubled. When Jamie Lynn first made her announcement, there was speculation that Nickelodeon would drop her show. But the network ended up standing by her, saying, “We know this is a very difficult time for Jamie Lynn and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn’s well being.” Nickelodeon has made the right choice and this is shown through Zoey 101’s ratings, which are higher than last year. Jamie Lynn’s pregnancy has made her a lot more famous and is evidence that controversy is good for ratings. The entire 4th season was shot long before she started to show, so if fans are tuning in to check out her bump, they will be disappointed.
