The Most Romantic Day of the Year

As you all know yesterday was Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day is a special day where you are reminded to show your loved one how much they mean you. There are many ways in which Valentine’s Day can be interpreted. Many believe that you shouldn’t need one day during the year to know you are loved. It should be showed throughout the year. It doesn’t hurt to be reminded once in awhile of how much you are cared for. Others think of it as a day where they are reminded of how lonely they are because they haven’t found that special someone. Some on the other hand believe that it doesn’t hurt to be reminded of loneliness because it shows that there is a gap in their life that needs to be filled. It serves as a purpose of how valuable love truly can be in a person’s life.

Valentine’s Day is a special day celebrated by two people in love. This year’s last minute shoppers were out in the pounding rain in search of the perfect Valentine’s Day gift. Classic gifts include flowers, chocolates, and lingerie. It is a day where romance is in the air and when many people get engaged or married.

One of the most spoken about stories to happen on February fourteenth was written in the New York Times by Jane Ridley. Eiyal Hillel (34 years old) asked Janna Hennikoff’s (32 years old) hand in marriage in New York’s Hometown Newspaper. Hillel posed for the Daily News’ camera in front of Central Park’s romantic Bethesda Fountain. She stated “I was in shock. He came into my room around 7:30 a.m. while I was getting ready for work with about 30 copies of the paper. I turned to page 2, saw the photo and read the headline. Meanwhile, he knelt down on the floor, pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him.” Janna said “YES” of course.

I would like to wish this couple good luck in beginning their lives together and a lifetime of happiness.
